What you ask us most
Short answers to the things that decide whether a configurator is worth it for you.
If we already build this type of product, a first version is usually live within a few weeks. If it is a product we have not built before, we start with one model range and widen it once that works. We will give you a date once we have seen your product data. Promising weeks before seeing it would be careless of us.
Three things. Which model ranges you sell, what dimensions and options belong to them, and what must never be combined. A spreadsheet is fine, so is the knowledge sitting in one engineer’s head. You do not have to tidy it up first. Tidying it up is part of the work we do for you.
Rules are exactly what a configurator is built on. Dimensional limits, accessory dependencies, combinations that cannot be manufactured, all of it goes into the engine, and the buyer simply never reaches an invalid variant. The more complicated the product, the bigger the difference, because that is where bad enquiries come from in the first place.
Yes, and it is common. The price can be exact, it can be indicative, or the buyer never sees it and it goes straight to your salesperson as the basis for a quote. You decide, we set it up.
No. Our configurators do not rely on finished models, the geometry is generated from the parameters you give us. That is why a dimension or a bay count can change and the scene redraws itself. Drawings and datasheets speed the work up, but they are not a condition.
The ones who are actually buying will. Anyone who goes through a configuration to the end has spent a few minutes on it and knows what they want. The rest drop out before they cost your salesperson an hour. That is good news, even though it does not sound like it at first.
Nothing. The configurator runs on its own address and your site links or buttons through to it. No rebuild, no migration. If you later want a tighter integration, we handle that separately.
Changes to prices, colours or accessories are data, and we make them from your brief. A new structure or a new model range is development and we agree that separately. You will not need a developer of your own.
Yes. The product logic stays single, so everyone prices the same way and nobody sells a combination that cannot be built. Contacts, prices and the output can be set per dealer. This is usually why companies with a dealer network get in touch first.
Worth talking, and tell us straight away what went wrong with it. The cause is usually one of three. Either it is too slow, or it does not know the manufacturing rules and lets nonsense through, or it produces a nice picture and no usable enquiry. Each of those is fixed differently, and rebuilding the same thing would be a waste.
It depends on how many model ranges and rules have to be covered, not on how many visitors you get. So we quote once we have seen the product. On the first walkthrough we will also tell you whether we think it is worth it for you, even when the answer is no.
The buyer gets a 3D design, a summary of what they chose and a quote as a PDF. You get an enquiry containing dimensions, variants, accessories and a link to that exact configuration. Instead of "I would like a pergola" you receive a brief you can work from.
