What a configuration could hand over
In a company that runs both jobs and capacity in Scoro, a configuration should end as a quote rather than an email. The quote can be created with its line items and price, and once accepted it carries on into a project with a work plan. Which fields and project templates are used is agreed during implementation.
Contacts
The customer from the configurator could be created in Scoro as a contact, person or company, or matched by email to one you already have.
Quote and lines
A configuration can become a quote with lines pointing to your products in Scoro, priced from the configurator or from the Scoro price list, as agreed.
Custom fields
Dimensions, options and the link to the 3D preview could sit in custom fields on the quote, so the salesperson sees them without opening another system.
Project and phases
Once the quote is accepted, it could carry on into a project with phases for the survey, the build and the installation, against which capacity is then planned.
What we need to connect it
Access would run through Scoro API v2 with the apiKey and company_account_id values, which an administrator finds under External Connections > API in the settings.
If you have several business entities in Scoro, we decide which one quotes from the website should belong to.
We need the list of products and price lists in Scoro that quote lines should refer to.
Custom fields for dimensions and the 3D preview link would be created in Scoro in advance, and we then include them in the mapping.
Worth deciding up front
- Scoro rate-limits requests by plan, both per two-second window and per day. That is no obstacle for a normal flow of enquiries, but it is planned for when syncing a whole product catalogue.
- We agree whether a quote from the website would arrive as a draft for the salesperson to check, or ready to go out to the customer.
- If Scoro calculates the price from its own price list and the configurator from its own rules, the two must produce the same number. That is checked on a sample of configurations before launch.
Questions about this connection
Will the website price overwrite the price in Scoro?
Only if we agree it should. A quote line can carry the configurator's price, or the price can be calculated from your Scoro price list with the configurator supplying only quantities and dimensions.
Will the salesperson see in Scoro that the quote came from the website?
The salesperson will see it in Scoro if a tag or custom field is reserved for it. We suggest that quotes from the configurator carry both a source marker and the link to the 3D preview.
Other integrations
Put Scoro to work in your sales.
Tell us what you sell and how an enquiry is handled today. On the demo you will see the configurator, and we will go through which data could flow from it into your system.
