Sell garden rooms on the thing that decides them — the wall
A garden room differs from a shed in one way: somebody has to be able to sit in it. The configurator therefore builds the conversation on the wall — a 44 mm log wall, or a 108 mm framed build-up in five layers, which is the only one that can be insulated. Lining, glazed double doors, a tall window and a deck follow. Insulating a log wall is never offered, because nobody on the market sells a kit for it.
Who this solution is for
The same configurator solves three different problems depending on who opens it.
Choice of material
A maker selling both log and framed rooms who needs buyers choosing a build-up before a colour.
Options side by side
A seller who explains the difference between a summer and a year-round garden room on the phone today.
Made-to-measure sizes
A company that also supplies the deck and needs its depth and surface in the enquiry, not at the survey.
Frequently asked questions
Can a log garden room be insulated?
Insulation is offered on the framed wall, not on the log one — no insulation kit for a log wall appears anywhere in the surveyed market. If the buyer wants a year-round room, the configurator points them at the 108 mm framed build-up in five layers. The log wall remains the choice for a room used from spring to autumn.
How does a garden room differ from a garden shed?
The difference is the wall and what can be bought to go with it: a room starts at 38 to 44 mm or on a framed build-up and has lining, flooring, glazed doors and often a deck. A tool shed does the job at 19 mm with a bare wall. The configurator is the same for both; only the choices change with what the building is for.
Can the room have a usable loft?
A loft is usable only under a gable roof; a mono-pitch or flat roof is open to its covering and leaves no headroom above. The configurator therefore does not show the loft choice at all on those roofs. Under a gable the buyer picks between storage and a walk-on loft.
How large a room can the buyer design?
On a log wall the footprint comes from a grid, because the wall is built from stocked lengths; on a framed wall the size runs freely from 2 to 9 m in 10 cm steps. Wall height runs from 168 to 350 cm. On your deployment both grids are replaced by the sizes you really build.
Does the demo show a price for the garden room?
The public demo shows no figure, because the rates in it are not yours and a garden room is priced by its build-up, its glazing and its finish. On your deployment pricing is wired to your list and the buyer sees the amount it produces. You get the breakdown behind that amount.
